Broker's Comments
The Atlanta Viking 8.5 is a bilge keel Bermudan sloop, similar in style to the Macwester 28.
Factory built in 1978/9, the boat has seen many meaningful upgrades over the years and benefits from a recent period of improvements and attentive maintenance.
Rigged for single handed sailing, the main is set with lazy jacks and the head sail, roller reefing. Running rigging is led back to the cockpit- note all running rigging is newly replaced. The main and genoa have been removed, professionally serviced, cleaned and dry stored for the winter period.
The Beta Marine 20hp, indirect cooled diesel with TMC 40M gear box, benefits from the same level of care and attention. The engine (2005) has only 160hrs recorded from new and presents well.
The interior has a clean and dry feel. All soft furnishings and curtains have been recently renewed. Bunk mattresses were also recently replaced with memory foam.
Currently stored ashore and in "winter mode" with full custom cover fitted- Where exposed, some of the standing and running rigging could use a clean.
Nicknamed "Land Rover of the sea" for its dry, comfortable and capable performance. this much enjoyed bilge keel cruiser is only offered for sale due to the owners retirement from yachting.
Should one which to keep the boat locally, there is a launching trolley, which also doubles as a hard standing support frame, included in the sale. There is also a mooring on the Afon Teifi available subject to negotiation.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
