Broker's Comments

In the late 1960's two naval architects (David Freeman and Gordon Wyatt) were searching the UK for a GRP motor sailer; a boat like that of the Scandinavian designs which did both sailing and motoring properly and were frustrated that nothing matched their (fairly exacting) standards. So, they designed their own, starting at 30' and from there the Fisher family of yachts began.

The fantastic sea-keeping capabilities of these hulls meant that the desire to sail further required a bigger boat! The Fisher 37 was the same shape but the larger overall volume meant her cruising range increased significantly, now they were building a true ocean-going passage-maker.

This particular yacht is not your standard Fisher 37. She has the advantage of a very different interior layout, similar to the Fisher Northeaster 30, designed for extended cruising in higher latitudes. She has a deck saloon with all round visibility, a large aft cabin with vast amounts of usable storage and the feeling that you really could go anywhere!

She's had further adaptations from her highly experienced owners making her a unique example of a well-loved design. She can carry a lot of canvas and as a cutter-rigged ketch the various combinations cover all sailing conditions. The Gardner engine will cover the rest!

Moving around above with her clear side decks and high bulwarks feels safe and easy, everything is strong and sturdy and in it's place. Below she is fresh and bright, traditional in style and with a quality fit out rarely seen now.

Well equipped for either extended cruising or living aboard, I do believe this Fisher 37 really will look after you.
