Broker's Comments
Competent, versatile and long-lasting, best describe the Catalac 8M.
Built in Christchurch, Dorset throughout the 70's and 80's, the Catalac is well regarded as a solid and capable sea boat, good in a blow and competent when presented with a challenging sea-state.
The boat offers volumes of space in all areas. For example, the cockpit comprises long bench seating to port and starboard, underneath which there are two huge lockers. There is also seating along the stern with additional locker space.
The large hard top and Perspex screen partly covers the helms position and offers the ability to slide a large section of the coach roof back while remaining protected from the elements. A fantastic design feature, providing light, air-circulation and most importantly, extra head room.
The general presentation of the vessel is good, credit lies with the current owners desire to invest in regular upgrades and continual maintenance. Some examples are- new running rigging, new tender outboard, new, coach roof mounted solar panel, new davits, replaced fridge unit (second hand) , new helms seat, improved electrics, new, electric sea toilet and new heating unit.
The perfectionists amongst us, might decide there are a few areas to finish touching up, ultimately though this is a boat ready to set sail and enjoy!
