Broker's Comments
The Maurice Griffiths designed Golden Hind 31 was once considered to be the epitome of an affordable, shoal draught, 'Blue Water' cruiser. Originally built in marine ply to Lloyd's specifications later examples, such as ours, were produced with GRP hull and wooden deck and coachroof. 'Ocean capable' in the right hands, many examples have indeed found those elusive palm fringed atolls and sun kissed anchorages, of which most of us just dream. This example has been well used and loved and has a substantial inventory, a recent motor and some modern instrumentation. Her sails appear to be serviceable although a new sacrificial strip for her Genoa and new canvas for her spray hood wouldn't go amiss. On the plus side battery charging shouldn't be a problem with engine, shore power, solar and wind all contributing to the cause! This kit level is testament to the extensive cruising around ireland, Isles of Scilly, West Coast of Scotland etc that this owner has accomplished with comfort and safety. Needs needs a little love, but is a sound boat.
