Broker's Comments
When Hanse started up production at Greifswald in the late 1990s they kept things simple by basing their first model's hull on that of a Swedish design, the Aphrodite, by Carl Beyer. They called it the Hanse 292. A facelift raised the freeboard slightly, moved the heads aft and it became the 301. Finally in 2002, after cosmetic changes to the interior, it became the 300. I know this is a sweet and lovely design because I used to have a 301, and I frequently regret having sold her. She was gorgeous to sail and a peach to manoeuvre under power. This 2003 example of a 300 has a shoal draft keel, self-tacking jib, a full cockpit enclosure and cabin heating. She appears to be in generally good order and will make somebody a lovely boat.
