This vessel was originally built by Hillyards at Littlehampton in 1966 as a centre cockpit sloop. In 2003 a major undertaking began to rebuild it with an aft cockpit layout & cutter rig. The hull was stripped to a bare shell and everything else -decks, cockpit, coachroof, interior, machinery & rig - was renewed. The work was undertaken to a very high standard through to 2005 when illness put the part-complete project on hold. The current owner, who spent years working at a senior level as a marine surveyor and naval architect, took up the challenge and completed the work in 2009/2010.
Carvel mahogany planking on sawn oak frames using non-ferrous screws and nails. The deck is scrubbed laid teak laid over epoxy-sheathed plywood. Full specifications can be supplied to serious buyers.

Broker's Comments
This lovely Hillyard is a fully working seagoing vessel. She spends much of her time being sailed between Plymouth and the south coast of Spain and is also home to her current owner. As such, she is regularly maintained and has just been re-painted, re-caulked and had a new top of the range Smeg cooker, new sink and new wood burning stove fitted. This vessel is a rare aft cockpit design and according to the owner, who is a very experienced sailor, she is a wonderful cruising yacht.
Wooden boats have a certain allure and always receive admiring looks when in port.
If this vessel is tempting you to explore foreign coasts, set off across the oceans or just quietly explore local harbours, then please call the broker Stephen Grimshaw to arrange a personal visit to this lovely lady of the sea.
