Broker's Comments
The owner has provided quite a comprehensive detail about the boat which seemed appropriate to share. The pictures do reflect the overall appearance of the boat.
"I bought the boat from her first owner in 2004 and have sailed her round Britain and Ireland plus raced her round Ireland and in several Fastnets. In 2018 we took line honours plus 1st on IRC in the 3 Peaks Yacht Race. During the 2021 3 PYR we hit a rock and sustained damage that has been repaired by West Coast Marine Services under supervision by a surveyor. I also had the hull below water line plus rudder and keel stripped back and 5 coats of Epoxy applied and additional reinforcement of the hull to improve upwind performance. A copy of the Surveyors report is available.
Whilst still basically a fast cruiser she has been extensively tweaked to maximise performance with new Dyform rigging by Hemisphere in 2018 and has a hydraulic backstay which was fully serviced by Allspars in 2022. She also had new running spinnaker in August 2022 as I had intended to race her again in the 2023 Three Peaks Yacht Race, but this has now been cancelled. I also have an opportunity to sail to Australia in 2023 and this combination has persuaded me to sell her.
As well as an extensive sail wardrobe, virtually all made in Lymington by Peter Sanders, she is basically up to standard for the Fastnet or other Category 2 races and has a Keel inspection Certificate plus endorsed IRC.
The rig has been alongside tuned by Ian Hunter but not sea tuned yet although In September and October I sailed her for over 3 weeks and she is sailing well under the older Pentex Racing Sails, achieving 9 knots through the water.
As well as Webasto heating system we have a system that uses waste heat from the engine, and this is really useful for a quick drying out when coming into port.
There are a lot of spares included such as sole boards for the main, new rudder bearings (not yet needed), speed gauge, windex, water and waste pumps. It has a flush fit anchor locker cover, but the original anchor locker cover is available together with Bruce Anchor, but I prefer the combination of the Fortress Anchor plus the 10 mm chain.
I have asked West Coast to order a new Tidesmarine track, the existing would be OK for a year or 2 but if they fail during a race or offshore trip, I understand it causes problems, though it has never happened to me".
