Broker's Comments
The 29 was one of the smaller Moodys of the era, but it feels much bigger than its designation suggests, both above and below decks. Outside, there is a big, well thought-out cockpit. Typical Moody quality and practicality: there is a locker under the sole, big enough to swallow an inflatable dinghy or a couple of very big fenders. A further hatch in the locker gives great access to the gearbox and aft section of the engine. More clever thinking up front: a deep well in the deck at the stem-head makes working on the foredeck a safer experience, though the in-mast reefing, added in 2007, means that occasions for leaving the safety of cockpit are much reduced. Bright ideas abound below decks as well. Notable among these is the saloon table: a substantial piece of timber that folds against the main bulkhead when underway. When required, it hinges down and unfolds to provide a huge dining table, revealing excellent safe bulwark shelf storage. A neat idea, executed by craftsmen. This particular vessel appears to be in good condition. Externally, the finish is clean, tidy and sound. This is a splendid quality cruiser of its time.
