Broker's Comments
Rarely have I come across a yacht which reflects the traditional character of the brand whilst incorporating practical and well thought out enhancements installed to a professional standard. Most Moody 29s have the Bukh 20hp engine, this comes with a Bukh 24hp. It started instantly from cold and ran smoothly.
The hull, topsides and canvasworks are top rate. The cockpit seats are attractively lined with Tekteak and show no splits or holes. The running rigging is new and the standard rigging shows no signs of rust or splitting. Halyards are raised at the mast because the owner did not want any lines spoiling the coachroof.
Gates have been installed between stanchions both port and starboard to facilitate getting on the boat, this is in addition to the standard stern access.
The gas installation has been removed and replaced with an all-electric set up. So in the galley it means pressurised water at 35psi through the taps, power to the fridge and microwave. This comprises a top of the range inverter to power all 12v electrics at once - except the kettle. He has thoughtfully left space above the microwave to install a spirit cooker if necessary.
In the saloon is a large TV. The flooring, upholstery and curtains are in excellent condition and coordinate well.
In all cabins there are touch downlighters and touch night time lights. All new pipework to the calorifier, an electric flush in the heads, special fire resistant deep divans in the forecabin, remote control for the lighting and ducted heating, additional microphone plug for the cockpit so you don't have to stretch the lead from the nav station....the list goes on, and there is much more. All the navigation instruments work and even include wireless wind and speed.
There is no chart plotter because a laptop is used and the next owner may wish to get the halyards back to the cockpit. What it all adds up to is a well cared for boat that looks great and, as we know with Moodys, sails well.
