Broker's Comments
A change in designer from Angus Primrose to Bill Dixon in the mid 1980's led to Moody yachts taking on a sleeker and more streamlined look, whilst still retaining interior space and good sea-keeping abilities. The Moody 346 was a progression from the 34, the same hull but a slight sugar scoop giving a bathing platform and between those two models there were over 400 built under production stopped in 1990.
They were designed as a really comfortable cruising boat. With the in-mast furling mainsail comes the ability to easily sail shorthanded. Yet there is plenty of space to accommodate guests in comfort and privacy with the luxury of an aft cabin.
This is a particularly lovely example in my opinion. I had the pleasure of photographing her freshly polished hull as she went back in the water and her decks were clean and white, no teak in sight!
Below, the upholstery is smart and fresh, the timber gleams and she gives the impression of a really well cared for boat. Then you access the engine bay (easily through the side panel) and this beautifully shiny blue Thornycroft shows again the level of maintenance this boat has benefitted from.
Viewing will be a pleasure.
