Broker's Comments
Robert Tucker was best known for his hard chine plywood and steel designs and I was very surprised to know how many well known boats came from his drawing board. The R383 was an adapted version of his original R38 and was a popular build. They have circumnavigated, cruised up in the Arctic Circle and several have crossed the Atlantic.
This particular boat was built by Chris Garner, a steel boatbuilder of Havant who built her for himself initially. The current owners planned to refit her for long term, long distance cruising but unfortunately their plans had to change and she is now ashore awaiting a new owner to take her sailing. The forecabin, heads, galley and saloon have been refitted with the carpentry work completed to a very high standard. There is still work to be done but she is well on her way - viewing is a must!
