Broker's Comments
This pretty all weather cruiser-racer is a classic Sparkman and Stephens design. Well proven for strength, stability, sailing performance and ease of handling, it also have beautiful lines and was described by Yachting Monthly as “regarded by many as the epitome of good IOR design”.
Ideal for solo/short handed sailing in calm or challenging conditions, this example has been sailed to the Azores and back by a previous owners daughter.
Designed for seakeeping and strength, rather than space and comfort, the accommodation and cockpit could be described as practical and rather cosy. Down below, the mahogany wood finish gives the accommodation a warm and traditional feel. She has berths for five in two cabins, a compact galley to port and a handy fold away navigation table to sbd. The saloon table also folds away to maximize the use of space. The heads compartment has a hanging locker opposite and a pull out handbasin.
If traditional sailing qualities such as speed, stability and simplicity are your desires or if you would like a safe introduction to cruising with the ability to venture further afield when you’re ready, then this could be the ideal yacht for you. She comes with a modern Beta engine and her own yard storage cradle.
