Broker's Comments
Westerly have an excellent reputation for building solid, comfortable and lasting boats. The Discuss is a great example of this pedigree, being a well respected, solid, seaworthy and spacious cruiser. The bilge keel provides a boat capable of navigating both inland and offshore waters and the boat has a safe and comfortable feel, with the spacious cockpit, making it ideal for families and longer distance cruises. Room on deck is equally comfortable, with spacious side decks and foredeck. The volume of space extends to the interior, with good headroom, an aft cabin, seperate forward cabin and heads. The galley provides plenty of room for preparing meals and clearing away afterwards and the saloon and its table make a comfortable and social space for relaxing and socialising.
This version looks to have been well maintained over the years and has benefited from numerous upgrades, such as the navigation instruments. The boat was valeted internally and externally during July 2021. When I visited the boat, I was struck by its light and spacious feel, due to the number of hatches, windows and the open space below, which also provides comfortable accommodation, with ample headroom. This boat is an attractive option for a range of uses, including the potential for coastal cruising, extended passage making and live-aboard possibilities, all in this boat appears to be a solid, tidy, spacious boat with an excellent reputation.
