Broker's Comments
The Westerly Consort is a thoroughly practical no-nonsense sort of twin keeled cruising yacht that helped make Westerly's name back in the days when British boatyards flourished - and before the asset strippers got a hold of them! Packing a huge amount of space into her 29ft overall length she perhaps became a little dated when competitors began cramming owners' suites below the cockpit and included refinements that appealed chiefly to yachtsmen and women who rarely left the security of a marina. The Consort handles well I'm told, and has a pleasing amount of wood below decks that make her feel nicely traditional (or retro?). This yacht is very tidy below, with acceptable upholstery and none of the sagging head-linings to which far too many of her contemporaries succumbed. She is however in need of some remedial work to her hull where an amateur epoxy coating has failed. This is NOT the end of the world! A professional boatyard fix will cost but a COMPETENT amateur could sort her out for the cost of materials. Her asking price reflects this work.
