Broker's Comments
It’s easy to see why the Westerly Konsort is such a popular boat. Over 700 were made over a 12 year period and with a very loyal following, many of their owners have never chosen to swap them for anything else. The owner of this example has happily sailed his for the last 10 years and is only selling due to his retirement from sailing.
Seaworthy and able to cope with heavy weather, the spacious and uncluttered cockpit has high combings to keep you safe, a mainsheet traveller fitted to the transom to keep it clear and easy to reach and most of the lines lead aft to the cockpit for ease when sailing short handed. The bilge keel enables you to explore creeks and rivers whilst the decks are wide and easy to move around.
Beamier than their predecessors, these 29ft boats offer a surprising amount of living space. They offer one of the largest interiors for this size / era & all finished in classic wood. Although the head-linings could do with some tlc, this example seems to be a dry boat, the upholstery is in good condition and the headroom is good throughout.
This would be a safe boat to make a start in and one that you will probably want to keep hold of for a long time. Safe, strong, comfortable with good sailing performance, what more do you want?
