Broker's Comments
It’s easy to see why the Westerly Konsort is such a popular boat. Over 700 were made over a 12 year period and, with a very loyal following, many of their owners have never chosen to swap them for anything else.
The owners of this example have happily sailed her for over 25 years and have made many upgrades and improvements. The only reason for sale is to move to a larger yacht for longer passages and living onboard.
In 2016, there was a comprehensive refit which included grit blasting & re-epoxying the hull, new standing rigging, a new Facnor roller reefing system for the headsail and a new Tides Marine Sailtrack 7 slide system for the main. In 2017, a new stainless steel exhaust system was fitted to the powerful 55hp Nissan LD4 (Diesel) that can power this yacht home when conditions become cheeky.
On the accommodation side, the Nav table has been removed to allow the quarter berth to be converted into a separate aft cabin, there is cabin heating, hot water and of course a lovely, beamy Konsort saloon.
The Nav fit is comprehensive with integrated B&G equipment, radar and AIS. There is an extra long tiller fitted to aid single handed sailing, all lines lead aft and there are extra stainless steel grab rails fitted for when you need to move on deck.
I think that’s enough said, this is one cool Konsort. A great family cruiser and all rounder, a yacht that’s easy to spend time on.
