Broker's Comments
The Ocean Ranger 38 from Westerly was produced for a decade with 84 boats rolling off the production line between 1989-1999.
The model is well regarded as a capable, spacious and comfortable passage maker, mainly due to the solid construction and spacious interior associated with Westerly Yachts.
This model comes with many extras, ideally suited to longer passage making and prolonged time at sea. For example, the sails suite is designed to accommodate changeable sailing conditions with cruising chute, spare main, storm jib, emergency forestay and telescopic spinnaker pole. The stanchions are designed with extra height for added safety.
The boat feels dry and well kept inside with significant upgrades carried out over the years. The headlining and windows have been replaced. The aft berth has been extended, providing additional bed space.
Externally the boat benefits from the same level of attention. The teak composite decking looks smart, the push-pit set-up includes dinghy davits, outboard mounting plate and pully/pivoting arm assist. The windvane is also securely mounted aft.
This is a well presented Bluewater cruiser with many extras, viewing is highly recommended.
