Cape Dory Yachts was founded by Andrew Vavolotis in 1963 The company was located in East Taunton, MA (USA).
Over the following 28 years, the company built over 2,800 sailboats ranging from 22 to 45 feet,
Cape Dory built more than 360 CD30's Between 1974 and 1987 at their yard to Carl Alberg traditional Classic design. Alberg also incorporated some of the traditional lines of the Scandinavian Folk boats from his home land of Sweden into the CD30.
Boarding this very clean and well maintained CD30c hull #274 has a large deep cockpit that seats four comfortably. Entering the cabin the new solid Corian counter tops are complimentary to the classic cabinetry & joinery below providing ample accommodation for a couple either as a weekend live aboard getaway or day sailer. Even in higher wind & sea conditions the CD30 handles beautifully under all points of sail with it's 4.2' draft the boat is ideal for local coastal cruising or exploring your favorite gunk hole alike.
A testament to their seaworthiness, at least one Cape Dory has circumnavigated the globe, in 2009 one in particular completed a three year voyage single handed by it's owner.
